Wake Internal Medicine Consultants, Inc. (WIMC) is a multi-specialty healthcare provider in Raleigh, North Carolina. Incorporated in 1981, WIMC grew out of Dr. Umphlet’s internal medicine practice which first opened in 1938. Today, WIMC consists of 27 physicians across 11 specialty areas of medicine, including cardiology, gastroenterology, pediatrics, gynecology, geriatrics, and more.

Wanting their website to give patients the same experience they offer in-person, WIMC reached out to TheeDigital to modernize and update their digital presence. Together, we designed and developed a website that is ADA-compliant, easy for users to schedule appointments, and representative of their healthcare values and patient care.

Since launching their new website, Wake Internal Medicine has increased their website traffic, improved engagement rates, and increased their user experience.

After launching their new website, WIMC asked us to redesign and develop each of their practice area websites, including Wake Gastroenterology, Wake Pediatrics, Wake Women’s Health, and Wake Sports Medicine.

TheeChallenge

Wake Internal Medicine is known for their quality medical care and patient experience. However, their website didn’t give prospective and current patients that same experience online. Their website was not mobile-friendly, was hard to use and get information, did not accurately describe (and portray) their services, locations, or values, and made it difficult for visitors to schedule an appointment with their doctor.

Wanting to simplify their website and increase online appointment requests, WIMC reached out to TheeDigital to discuss a website redesign.

To do this, we integrated a ‘Schedule an Appointment’ form on the homepage, added live chat/text functionality to every page, and emphasized the phone number CTA in the top right of the website.

Wake Internal Medicine makes it easy for patients to manage their insurance, personal information, and more through their online patient portal. We integrated their third-party patient portal tool with their website to give users a seamless experience when accessing the tool straight from the site.

The new design is now ADA-compliant, meaning that everyone (including those with disabilities) can access content and navigate the site, easily and efficiently. This also means that everyone can engage with all the different elements on the site, like click-to-call phone numbers, buttons on forms, and other calls-to-action (CTAs).
