2001
How It Started
In the early 2000s, Richard Horvath, the owner and visionary behind TheeDigital, embarked on a grand adventure from Hungary to the USA, armed with just a suitcase and a dream, in pursuit of greater opportunities and to master English. Leaving behind his loved ones, he set forth on a journey that would redefine his destiny.
2004
Registering Our Very First Domain Name
By 2004, from the humble beginnings of his kitchen table, Richard launched his business, spreading the word far and wide, leaving no stone unturned, and no business card unplaced. Initially, we were operating as TheBestDesigner.com. His relentless dedication resulted in getting his very first paying client, Corlase, a laser hair removal business who needed a website.
2009
First Office On Millbrook Rd
Richard’s business was growing rapidly (despite a recession) and he soon learned that he would never be the best designer, the best developer, the best copywriter, and all the other roles that an agency needs. He began to surround himself with talented people and he built up his team to handle all of his new clients. In 2009, he and his small team moved into their first office on Millbrook Rd. They also attended their first Internet Summit and began to make a name for themselves in the community. Richard was so proud of his license plate: WEB SITE
2010
Move to Oak Park on Glenwood Ave
In 2010, amidst a challenging recession, Richard and his team moved to a fresh space in the Oak Park shopping center off Glenwood Ave in Raleigh. Transforming a bare space into a vibrant creative office and video production studio, they opened the doors to growth, hosting events and welcoming more clients. Against the odds, TheeDesign flourished from 2008-2010, supporting local businesses to not just survive but thrive through innovative websites and digital marketing strategies.
2011
Richard’s Citizenship
Richard’s journey to the US started with a dream to learn English and boost his career prospects. What unfolded was a beautiful tale of laying down roots, founding a successful company, and meeting the love of his life, Elsa. In 2011, he embraced the American dream fully by becoming a proud US citizen and continued to grow his business.
2013
Growing and Bonding
2013 was a year of growth, creativity, and community! We bonded over thrilling rapids at the US National White Water Rafting Center in Charlotte, NC. We launched our brand new TheeDesign website and we were honored with INDY Week’s Best Web Designer Award. We participated in the Susan Komen 5k walk, stepping together for a cause that touches millions, and we introduced the iconic TheeDesign branded smart car.
2014
Celebrating 10 Years
2014 was an epic year for TheeDigital! We hit our 10-year milestone and celebrated in style with a superhero-themed bash at The Hive in downtown Raleigh. Our adventures took us to Banner Elk and scenic Beech Mountain and Grandfather Mountain for some much-needed R&R and team bonding. We lit up the night at the Electric Run and got creative at our Pumpkin Carving Party. A special shoutout to Keri Rosemond (then Giordano), who joined us in April 2014.
2015
Team Building And Community Service
In 2015, TheeDigital turned 11 and we marked the occasion in style at The Hive in downtown Raleigh! For Earth Day, we got our hands dirty building a new chicken coop for the Durham non-profit SEEDS with Earth Share – giving back has never felt so good! Adventure was in the air as we took on indoor rock climbing, capturing team spirit with photos at Dorothea Dix, and sharing in the joy of the holiday season together.
2016
Move to Strickland Office
In 2016, TheeTeam expanded with our move to the Strickland Rd office, marked by an unforgettable ribbon-cutting ceremony. We celebrated our 12th anniversary in style at Mash & Lauter, downtown Raleigh, all while supporting Cause for Paws. We took part in an inspiring volunteer project with Earth Share at Durham Open Space & Trails. We showered Richard & Elsa with love at their beautiful baby shower and welcomed baby Sofia. And we wrapped it all up with our festive Christmas team photo at Lafayette Village and our Christmas party.
2017
Inc 5000 List
2017 was a landmark year for TheeDigital! We soared to #1904 on the Inc. 5000 List, a testament to our hard work and dedication. We bonded like never before, from team building in the park to sharing good times at Hibernian, and letting loose at the Bounce Place. Plus, we made a positive impact with our Earth Share volunteer project, giving back to the community in Durham.
2018
More Success And Team Building
We landed at #4402 on the Inc. 5000 List, showcasing our team’s relentless drive and innovation. Our 13th anniversary brought us together for a team picture, and adventures continued with team building at Lake Johnson. We attended WordCamp and embraced our commitment to the planet with Earth Share at Carolina Tiger Rescue. who could forget the Pumpkin Party?
2019
Rebranded as TheeDigital!
2019 was a milestone year for us at TheeDigital! We embraced change with a fresh rebrand, marking a new chapter in our journey. We celebrated 15 incredible years with an unforgettable anniversary party at Solas in downtown Raleigh. Our commitment to the planet shone through with another impactful Earth Share volunteer project and we geeked out at WordCamp. Plus, we welcomed the newest member of our team, TheeJeep, our cool company car.
2020
TheeDigital Goes Remote & Real Men Wear Pink
2020 was a year of significant change and resilience for us at TheeDigital. Embracing the new normal, we transitioned to a fully remote operation, ensuring our team’s safety and maintaining seamless service for our clients. Amidst it all, Richard stepped up in the fight against cancer, joining the Real Men Wear Pink campaign in the Consultants Vs Cancer initiative.
2023
Recent Years
From 2021 to 2023, TheeDigital journeyed through moments of joy, celebration, and unity. We felt the sand between our toes on a memorable beach trip in Surf City, and we spread smiles with our Toys 4 Tots drives. Our Christmas parties were filled with warmth and laughter, and we kept our team spirit alive through virtual team-building events. We showered Lauren with love at her baby shower, welcoming the newest member to the TheeDigital family.
2024
Celebrating 20 Years
2024 marks our 20th anniversary, and a move to our new office on Wake Forest Rd. We’re looking forward to celebrating with everyone at our anniversary party on April 5th. We hope you enjoyed this walk down memory lane!
2025
2025
In 2025, TheeDigital turned 21. We kicked off the year with a Business After Hours event at our Raleigh HQ, for an evening of celebration. A few months later, we attended the North Raleigh Business Expo, connecting with fellow businesses and showcasing our digital expertise. In the spring, we partnered with EarthShare NC and The Scrap Exchange to build a pollinator garden for Earth Day, and in July, we supported the Raleigh-area Special Olympics as volunteers. As we continue to grow, we’re focused on helping our clients and community thrive through smart marketing and and cutting-edge web design.
