Shopify Website for a Custom Sterling Silver Jeweler
TheeSummary
Monkey Wrench Designs is a unique custom-made jeweler who specializes in huge, funky, and completely off-the-wall sterling silver jewelry designed for comic book lovers, cosplayers, fantasy aficionados, horror hounds, sci-fi geeks, and riders who live loud.
They came to TheeDigital looking for a partner to create their Ecommerce website from scratch.
Our developers and designers worked with the jeweler to build them an Ecommerce website that would make inventory and product management simple and effective, while also highlighting the unique nature of the jewelry.

TheeChallenge
Monkey Wrench Designs needed a completely new website, built from the ground up. They had no experience in online sales, no experience on websites, limited content, and no photography.
Our challenge was to not only shepherd them through the process of providing content and photography, but also help them understand what was needed to build and maintain a full eCommerce website with Shopify.
Shopify was the perfect choice for Monkey Wrench because of it’s ease of use: it’s simple to update, manage inventory and fulfill orders on the back end.
TheeResults
Using Shopify, our development team created an engaging design that incorporated the jeweler’s unique graphic novel approach while ensuring ease of ordering.
Monkey Wrench Designs occupies a category almost entirely its own: a sterling silver line conceived not as standalone product but as the wearable half of an original comic book universe. Founder Ron Lodholz spent 45 years designing fine jewelry with the belief that a piece should mark a chapter in its owner’s life, and with Monkey Wrench he turned that idea outward, writing the story himself and building a cast of heroes, villains, and unexpected heroines to give the metal something to say.
Unique Design Aesthetic Challenge
Every ring, bangle, and skeleton key necklace corresponds to a character, event, or image from the Monkey Wrench narrative, rendered in a bold bio-mechanical steampunk aesthetic and engineered with hidden compartments and secret treasures that reward closer inspection. The result is jewelry that functions as a collectible artifact and a plot point at once, with the comic and the collection advancing the same world in parallel. That dual-format storytelling shaped the ecommerce build, which had to sell high-consideration pieces ranging from roughly $450 to nearly $6,000 while carrying enough narrative weight to make a buyer feel they were stepping into the story rather than checking out of a catalog.
