Semi-Custom Website Development for a Local Public Health Department
TheeChallenge
Partnership for a Healthy Durham’s outdated website was failing to meet their community engagement goals, as it was slow, poorly organized, and challenging to manage. Key issues included an ineffective logo, a cumbersome blog for meeting minutes, and a static layout that hindered updates. They required a website redesign to improve user experience, streamline content management, and prepare for future expansion through potential grants. The aim was also to integrate flexible elements like advanced custom fields (ACF) for easy updates and ensure the site could eventually link to a separate, more comprehensive website.
Design of Custom WordPress Website
TheeDigital custom-designed websites begin with a Wireframe, a black-and-white layout sketch that prioritizes key elements. Along with a Creative Brief, which outlines client needs, the Wireframe guides the design process. Once approved, our design team creates the first draft, collaborating with the client for feedback before moving into development.
For Healthy Durham, we streamlined their key initiatives, integrated a blog for meeting minutes, and built new pages for Durham Knows with a distinct layout. We also created a flexible template, making it easier for them to manage content and expand their site as the organization grows.
