Shopify Website for a Local Raleigh Vintage Barware Store

Shopify site for a local vintage barware store in Raleigh

TheeSummary

The Fab Foo is a Raleigh, North Carolina-based online and brick-and-mortar shop centered on stylish, playful entertaining. It specializes in vintage and new barware: glassware, cocktail sets, shakers, bar tools, and ice buckets: alongside home decor, gifts, jewelry, table linens, and its signature foo dog figurines. The store also houses Raleigh Cocktail Company, an in-store boutique for cocktail-making supplies, and leans into a fun, unpretentious “life’s too short to be serious” vibe geared toward hosting and celebrating everyday occasions.

The owners of The Fab Foo came to TheeDigital looking for a local  partner to create their Ecommerce website from scratch so they could start selling online.

TheeChallenge

As the owner of a growing specialty retail shop in Raleigh, the business owner recognized that a physical storefront alone wasn’t enough to reach today’s shoppers: customers increasingly expect to browse, discover, and purchase from a business online before ever stepping through the door. Without a digital presence, The Fab Foo risked missing out on customers beyond its local foot traffic and losing visibility to competitors who had already established themselves online.

The bigger challenge, however, was inventory: with a constantly rotating selection of one-of-a-kind vintage finds, they needed a way to keep stock accurate across both its in-store and online sales without the risk of overselling a piece that only existed in a single quantity. Shopify became the clear choice because it could automatically sync inventory between the physical store and the online shop in real time, giving the business a unified system to manage stock, avoid double-selling unique items, and finally establish the online presence it needed to grow.

In addition, photography needed to be taken for all the inventory, product write ups, and setting up an actual online store presence! That’s where TheeDigital came in. TheeDigital helped the business owner choose an Ecommerce platform, and navigated the requirements necessary to launch an attractive, easy-to-navigate Shopify website with the business owner.

TheeResults

Using Shopify, The Fab Foo is Growing Their Brand Beyond their Storefront

Since launching on Shopify, The Fab Foo has been able to extend its reach well beyond its Raleigh storefront, giving shoppers across the country a way to discover and purchase its rotating selection of vintage barware, foo dogs, and home decor. The synced inventory system has eliminated the guesswork of managing one-of-a-kind pieces across two sales channels, so the team can confidently list an item online without worrying about it being sold in-store at the same time, and vice versa.

Beyond solving the inventory challenge, the online store has become a natural extension of the brand’s playful, “life’s too short to be serious” personality! Curated collections, seasonal new arrivals, and gift guides mirror the same experience customers get walking into the Wade Avenue shop. The result is a cohesive business where the physical store and online shop work together, helping The Fab Foo build a stronger brand presence, reach new customers, and grow sales without adding operational complexity.

Unique Challenge: Inventory

With a rotating catalog of nearly 12,000 individual SKUs, many representing one of a kind vintage pieces, getting The Fab Foo’s inventory into Shopify presented a challenge far beyond a typical product upload and the business owner didn’t know where to start.

The Shopify experts at TheeDigital worked closely with The Fab Foo to build a comprehensive spreadsheet capturing every item’s details, pricing, images, and stock status, then helped to carefully map and import that data into Shopify to ensure nothing was lost or mismatched in the transition.

Because so much of the inventory consists of unique, non-repeatable finds, TheeDigital also helped establish a sustainable process for updating the spreadsheet going forward, making it easy for the owner to add new arrivals, retire sold pieces, and keep online and in-store stock accurate as the collection continues to change.
